Project Coordinator

Objective of the position: To oversee the implementation and realization of project goals and objectives for an education and psychosocial support intervention for Syrian children. Key tasks and responsibilities: The Project Coordinator will work under the supervision of the War Child Syria Emergency Program Manager, to whom he/she will report. Manage/oversee the implementation of the project. Responsible for partnership building and regular communication and coordination with all partners in the field. Ensure the regular monitoring and assessment of project activities. Responsible to track and monitor project expenses, and ensure implementation of activities according to the budget plan. Lead in the capacity building of implementing partner organizations. Ensure that the project stays on track to achieve results and objectives. Contribute to child protection program development. Ensure that all project reports are submitted on time.   Time-frame The Project Coordinator is a full-time position (5 days per week). The position will start June 1, 2015 and will last for 6 months, with possibility of extension depending on performance.    Duty station and travel arrangements The Project Coordinator will be based in the office in Beirut.   Project inputs War Child Holland will provide the Project Coordinator with a monthly salary commensurate with experience, as well as transportation and communication costs, and a laptop computer.   Required skills and competencies Fluent in Arabic; Fluency in English preferred (with strong writing skills in English) Previous experience in child protection programming and/or emergency response preferred. Attention to detail with strong follow up Strong initiative to contribute to program development and strategy. Background/contextual knowledge regarding the conflict and humanitarian situation in Syria. Team oriented, with ability to work efficiently independently. Flexible and responsive to program challenges, with willingness to take on additional tasks as needed.
