Project Coordinator

Result Areas:

 

Project Implementation:

  • Oversee the execution of project activities according to the agreed-upon plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with project staff, partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and timely delivery of assistance.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and challenges, and take proactive measures to address them.

 

Resource Management:

  • Manage project budgets, expenditures, and resources effectively to ensure financial accountability and transparency.
  • Procure necessary supplies, equipment, and services in compliance with organizational policies and donor guidelines.
  • Optimize the use of available resources to maximize project impact and sustainability.

 

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure that project activities are implemented in accordance with War Child's mission, values, and code of conduct.
  • Adhere to donor guidelines and reporting requirements, including financial and narrative reporting.
  • Ensure that all project expenditures are eligible and properly documented.
  • Conduct risk assessments at the beginning of the project and regularly throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop risk management plans to mitigate identified risks, including strategies for risk prevention, mitigation, and response.

 

Team Leadership and Capacity Building:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to project staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.
  • Identify training and capacity-building needs within the project team and partner organizations.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development.
  • Promote a culture of respect, diversity, inclusion, and adherence to humanitarian principles among project team members.

 

Partnership and Coordination:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, including government authorities, local communities, NGOs, UN agencies, and donors.
  • Coordinate closely with partners to avoid duplication of efforts, leverage resources, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the humanitarian response.
  • Represent the organization in coordination meetings, clusters, and other forums to advocate for the needs of affected populations and ensure coordination of interventions.
  • Strong collaboration with local partners.

 

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL):

  • Conduct regular field visits, assessments, and evaluations to gather data, identify lessons learned, and improve project effectiveness.
  • Facilitate learning and knowledge-sharing within the organization, local partners and with external stakeholders to enhance programmatic impact and innovation.

 

Reporting:

  • Prepare regular progress reports, including narrative and financial reports, for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that reporting requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support local partner in donor reporting (narrative and financial)

 

Knowledge and Experience

 

Degree in Social Sciences, Management or related field

At least 3 years of relevant experience

Preferably previous experience working with children/refuges/vulnerable populations

 

Skills and Competencies

 

Strong communication skills

Fluency in Arabic

Strong English skills

Flexibility

Cultural sensitivity

Attention to detail with strong follow up

Team oriented, with ability to work efficiently independently.

Proficient in Ms Office - word processing, spread sheets, etc.
