Psychologist – Lebanon War Child programme in Lebanon War Child’s Lebanon Programme aims to promote child rights and improve psychosocial development opportunities for vulnerable Syrian refugees. The programme focuses on increasing marginalized children’s attendance in formal and non-formal schools (literacy courses and vocational training) and community reintegration. War Child pays particular attention to the problem of gender based violence and economic exploitation. Target groups are vulnerable children and youth. War Child Lebanon relies on local organizations for the implementation of its programme and runs a programme of strengthening local capacities. We work in synergy with local and international organizations and governmental institutions. War Child Programme Area (WPA) Lebanon will support options for collaboration and exchange with War Child offices in Syria.   The Challenge The Psychologist  has the knowledge and practical skills to carry out focused psychosocial support activities vulnerable children at high risk within the community using the organization methodology that is in line with the focused psychosocial programs minimum standard set .( or agreed upon by …) The Psychologist reports to the Project Coordinator and is part of the Programme Implementation Department. Essential functional relations: Programme Development Department especially the PSS Advisor.   Responsibilities As Psychologist you should work on Monitoring activities in the field which mean Ensure that the activities are done in a clean, hazard free, quiet and ‘private’ location, ensure that all beneficiaries participate in the focused program in a non-discriminatory  as well as age and gender sensitive and approprationriate approach; conduct  ‘Focused psychosocial activities’ for high risk children in their community at least one time per week per group, Ensure that the children feel safe, comfortable and respected, ensure that all children and caregivers are aware of any accountability/ complaint mechanisms, encourage participants to talk about and explore their feelings and behavior, ensure that parents/caregivers get frequent feedback about their child’s participation during the sessions in presence of the child (if needed). Undergo supervision in order to raise personal issues and professional concerns arising from work with another appropriately qualified person  And you should handle administration activities which mean ,collect attendance of participants in the activities, and fill in weekly reports as required, respect and abide to the organization’s internal code of conduct and child protection policy, develop individual and group progress report and maintain a filing system of children respecting confidentiality. collect and documents feedback from the field on the implementation of the methodology including challenges and lessons learnt, ensure an individual carrying out of the SDQ pre and post questionnaire, ensure the carrying out of the organization required assessment tools, perform other duties as assigned.
