Job Title: Social Worker for the Syrian Refugee Intervention

Responsibilities
Providing psycho-social support to Syrian refugee children who are spotted in the CFS to having been exposed to several psycho-social incidents as violence, facing post traumatic complications due to loss or separation from their family members/friends, or due to displacement from Syria to Lebanon,… which may severely impact the psychological and social wellbeing and development of the child through developing symptoms of distress.
Ensures activities are appropriate for the physical and mental capacity of children.
Ensure safety and health of children in the CFS
Establish & update a mapping of surrounding NGOs in the area
Assess the needs and priorities of the targeted beneficiaries and define suitable activities based on participatory approach.
Provide short-term intervention & guidance to children with special vulnerabilities as well as their parents.
Provide referral guidance to other specialized NGOs to ensure these children recover back to their regular daily life routines.
Counsel individuals, groups, families, or communities regarding issues including mental health, child labor, child abuse, child protection, child education, psycho-social support for children, and empowerment of children.
Follow-up with animators and children for the behavior of the child within activities.
Organize referrals and follow-up cases.
Keeping case records, reports of sessions, interventions, cases handled and referred.
Reports to the child protection focal point as soon as she/he suspect or observe or informed a child or children are at risk of abuse.
Outreach Activities:
When capable:
Provide awareness sessions for families on the child & family wellbeing.
Provide focus group discussions with families as a deeper insight on challenges faced and fears they have.
Collect data and update situation overview about the newcomers and families wellbeing.
Provide information to ensure refugees are knowledgeable about how and where to apply for specific assistance.
Ensure refugees make proper use of the services available to them.
Applicant’s Profile:
Degree in Social Work or related field
1-2 years of experience in a similar role
Experience with refugees/vulnerable populations preferred
Arabic fluency and strong English skills
Strong computer skills
Strong communication skills
Flexible team member
Having a high degree of interpersonal relation with supervisors, peers … for on the spot problem solving, organization and planning of work on the field.
