Objective of the job
War Child Holland is currently implementing recreational/psychosocial support activities as part of a UNICEF funded Psychosocial Support program that targets children at risk of abuse, violence, neglect and exploitation.
The Staff Care consultant is responsible to support the wellbeing of 6 house parents, 5 animators, 1 social worker and 1 logistics officer through monthly group and individual sessions.
Position
The Staff Care consultant will be responsible for assessing staff care needs, organizing and delivering monthly group and individual therapy sessions.
She/he will provide monthly reports on progress of staff wellbeing, highlighting major issues of concerns and advice when needed.
Key tasks
Provide individual and group sessions to War Child’s CFS staff and to Home of Hope house parents.
Report on progress, while maintaining confidentiality, to line manager.
Delivering a final report when the intervention is done.
Knowledge and experience
Master’s degree in clinical psychology. A diploma in psychotherapy is a must.
Fluency in Arabic required; proficiency in English is a plus.
Two to three years of experience in relevant field (working with NGO or as a counselor or psychotherapist).
Background/contextual knowledge regarding the conflict and humanitarian situation in Syria, and sensitivity to the context.
Time frame
The Staff Care consultant will start as soon as possible and will last for 4 months; with possibility for extension.
The consultant is expected to deliver:
- One monthly group session, and one monthly individual session for the house parents (6 participants);
- Two monthly group sessions for the CFS staff (7 participants).
Experience required:
2 to 3 years
Education degree: Masters Degree Field of education: Master’s degree in clinical psychology. A diploma in psychotherapy is a must.
