Responsibilities & Duties:
Management Responsibilities:
The Chief Digital Ambassador will be responsible for managing a number of field-based volunteers. Tasks will include:
Taking a lead role in the recruitment and selection of suitable library-based volunteers to conduct community outreach and lead other IT-related community engagement activities;
Monitoring the volunteers’ IT/digital media training deliverables in the libraries in terms of both time and quality;
Assessing and evaluating the volunteers’ skills and performance on a periodic basis.
Technical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing the information and digital technology components of a 36-month community development project including:
1) IT training & capacity-building:
Preparing, supervising, facilitating and delivering a range of IT/digital media training for project beneficiaries in the libraries, including participating in preparing training materials and implementing training for the local community on how to incorporate and benefit from technology in their daily lives;
Cooperating with librarians to establish and manage libraries’ online presence, including appropriate social media accounts;
Leading on the selection and installation of appropriate IT equipment for the libraries.
2) Supporting smooth project coordination & implementation:
Actively contributing to the planning, monitoring and evaluation of IT-related activities in the libraries, including:
Participating in the design and implementation of clear action/activity plans for the participating public libraries and project personnel;
Conducting periodic project evaluation tasks as required;
Conducting annual assessments of libraries’ IT/digital resources, skills/capacities and assets.
Supporting the Library Program Coordinator in ensuring smooth coordination, implementation and reporting of overall project, including:
Coordinating with the Library Program Coordinator and other project staff to ensure project objectives are met;
Compiling success stories and sharing with relevant colleagues and stakeholders, including uploading material online where appropriate;
Participating in preparing and submitting regular project reports, including midterm and final reports.
Contributing to relevant WA publications;
Other tasks as required.
