Background 

Taawon (Welfare Association) is an independent non-profit organization established in 1983 by a group of Palestinian business and intellectual figures to provide development and humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in the West Bank, Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, 1948 Areas, and the Palestinian communities in Lebanon.  

 

Taawon aims to contribute to furthering the progress of the Palestinians, preserving their heritage and identity, supporting their culture and building civil society. Taawon is strongly rooted in the local Palestinian community in Lebanon, making it both a trusted partner and well-placed to respond to the community’s needs. In partnership with local NGOs, we implement projects in three tracks: Investing in People, Building Resilient Communities and Securing Humanitarian Relief.

 

Scope of work:

Taawon (Welfare Association) – Lebanon is seeking to hire a Social Media Officer who will be responsible for developing and implementing the organization’s social media strategy, creating engaging content, and managing online community interactions.

 

Under the direct supervision of the Communication Specialist, the candidate will undertake the following responsibilities.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Social Media Strategy and Planning 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with organizational objectives. 
  • Identify target audiences and craft tailored messaging for each platform. 
  • Stay updated on social media trends and incorporate innovative approaches. 

2. Content Creation and Management

  • Prepare monthly content calendars for the different social media platforms.
  • Create, curate, and schedule compelling content (text, graphics, videos) for all social media platforms.  Ensure content is consistent, of high-quality and aligned with the organization's brand and goals. 
  • Coordinate with program teams to source impactful stories and updates. 
  • Ensure brand consistency and adherence to organizational guidelines. 

3. Community Engagement

  • Monitor and respond to social media comments, messages, and mentions promptly. 
  • Foster an interactive and inclusive online community. 

4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting 

  • Track and analyze social media performance metrics (e.g., engagement rates, reach, conversions) and deliver performance reports with key metrics and insights or regular basis.
  • Provide regular reports with insights and recommendations for improvement. 
  • Use analytics to optimize campaigns and content. 
  • Ensure increased engagement, followers, and visibility across platforms

 

Required Qualifications and Experience  

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communication, Media Studies, or a related field. 
  • A minimum of three years of proven experience in managing social media platforms for an organization. 
  • Strong copywriting and content creation skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Graphic design and video editing skills (e.g., Adobe Suite, Canva).
  • Willingness to travel within Lebanon including Palestinian refugee camps.

Desirable:

  •    Experience in the non-profit or humanitarian sector. 
  •    Knowledge of SEO, paid advertising, and digital marketing techniques.
