Coaching and Training Coordinator

GVC is an Italian NGO founded in 1971. Actually is working in 22 countries worldwide. GVC presence in Lebanon dates back to the begin of Syrian Crisis and since then GVC has been implementing emergency and development projects in Bekaa financed by International Donors mainly in WASH sector.

GVC is actually recruiting personnel to cover the position of 1 Coaching and Training Coordinator to support activities in Bekaa.

Position Title:                   Coaching and Training Coordinator

Reporting to:                        Project Manager

Duty station:                                Zahle office

Salary grade:                                G6/L2

 

 

Responsible for: 

  • Ensure team work, promoting and accomplishing regular and spontaneous communication, sharing and coordination between all team members
  • Ensure the achievements of expected results of the activities according to the work plan and adherence to logistic, human resources, and administrative procedures
  • Ensuring involvement of relevant GVC colleagues in key actions, as appropriate
  • Line management of 2 Coaching and Training Officers
  • Compliance to GVC Community Protection Approach, ensuring proper coordination of training and coaching sessions with partners

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The CPA (Community Protection Approach) is a methodology which comprises a context-specific process of multi-sectorial assessment and right-based analysis to determine immediate patterns of risks and analyze the degree of the population’s resilience against such risks. Throughout this, local protection strategies are elaborated and designed to increase the capacities and empower the communities and individuals, reduce exposure to harm and develop local strategies to increase protection from the impeded access to safe and dignified life.

 

GVC is looking for a Coaching and Training Coordinator to lead on internal and external trainings with partners, mainly related to CPA methodology.

 

1. Prepare the Training of Trainers (ToT)

  • Plan the course of the ToT by articulating the sessions for the roll out of a National Multi-Sector Risk Assessment and the implementation of CPA methodology
  • Prepare the objectives, materials and content of the sessions
  • Write the program of the training and submit it for validation to CPA and Protection Specialists
  • Prepare the training planning for trainers
  • Plan necessary equipment in accordance with the given budget
  • Prepare the tools for evaluating the trainers: elaboration of a grid of satisfaction of the participants, follow-up on the trainings, capitalization on handouts, etc.
  • Coordinate with Trainers to prepare and schedule trainings for their staff members

 

2. Coordination and follow up of trainings for staff members done by Trainers

  • Prepare all the necessary documents for the training sessions (such as attendance sheets, transcripts, handouts and written and corrected evaluations) on National Multi-Sector Risk Assessment and CPA methodology
  • Support the trainers in ensuring the follow up and reception of materials and technical equipment before each session
  • Be in constant contact with Trainers to respond to specific requests or support
  • Attend and monitor periodically training sessions
  • Supervise the quality of the trainings

 

3. Reporting and representation

  • Participate in the preparation of periodical reports for the Trainer
  • Update regularly and with precision all the follow up tools
  • Produce weekly reports to Project Manager
  • Produce a monthly Situation Report (Sit Rep) related to the activities under his/her responsibility and their analysis
  • Report any problem or constraints and propose improvements
  • Represent GVC demonstrating ethical and professional practices

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in social sciences, education, human resources or other relevant field
  • At least 2 years of previous experience in the humanitarian sector
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel
  • Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports
  • Previous work in coaching and training position will be an asset
  • Driving licence

EMPLOYEMENT CONDITIONS

  • Contract duration: 9 months full-time with possibility to renew
  • Required Starting Date: ASAP
  • Duty Station: GVC Zahle office, with frequent movement to other GVC and partners offices
