Summary of Key Functions and Responsibilities The Data Analyst (DA) will be supporting the PVI and Data Analyst Specialist (PDAS) in the management, use and development of all data within the databases used for Humanitarian Advocacy and Analysis within the humanitarian programmes of GVC. He/She will insure data consistency and tailored analyses in line with set objectives and the guidance of the PDAS. This position reports to the PDAS and does not have any line management responsibilities. The DA is based in Zahle, with frequent movement to GVC office of El-Ain and other area of intervention (AoI), as deemed appropriate by the PDAS and Protection Programme Coordinator (PPC). The DA will be working within the Information Management Department, in close collaboration with the Information Management Coordinator. The DA will be deployed in Lebanon and follow rule, management and regulation of the Lebanon mission, but he/she will be considered a dedicated staff of the Regional Protection Task Force and ultimately accountable to the Global Protection Expert of GVC. Specific Objectives and Fields of Responsibility Insure that the data within the Protection Dashboard is timely and properly processed and analyzed in line with the objectives set by the PDAS. Working with each key team of GVC (WASH, IMS, Protection and Management) to identify, extract and formalize the information they need from the existing data Contributing to the GVC strategic thinking notably by substantiating relevant information in close collaboration with the PVI and Data Analyst Specialist        1. Insure timely and properly processed data. Data mining, cleaning and munging of the Protection Vulnerability Index (PVI) and upon PDAS requests and guidance. Data crunching of GVC existing old databases and all existing and accessible datasets in Lebanon, to extract occurrences to confront and validate PVI and Protection Dashboard data analysis. Data Analysis support to the Information Management Department Support to design and development of quantitative and qualitative analysis tools and systems to streamline the calculation of trends and time analyses. Support to PVI Platform Planning, Monitoring and Validation Analyse and insure that GVC field team employ standard and methodologically relevant data collection techniques. Insure the proper systematization of tools and all relevant documentation of the PVI and Protection Dashboard for easy access to the Lebanon Mission and the Regional Protection Task Force staff.        2. Identify, extract and formalize the information they need from the existing data Day to day quantitative analysis of data uploaded to the platform and constant backstopping with IMC, under the supervision of the PDAS. Support the PDAS in elaborating qualitative analysis and specifically in insuring the proper data filling to insure the use of softwares for qualitative analysis. Constantly triangulate data within the PVI by maintaining technical contact with field staff as agreed with the PDAS and the IMC. On spot visits to check data collection and field presence, when necessary, to insure that the data analysis reflects the real situation in the affected communities.        3. Substantiating relevant information in close collaboration with the PVI and Data Analyst Specialist Provide data analysis support in the design and development of new initiatives and proposals Maintain constant and systematic update of statistics, as defined with PDAS and PPC, for regular information sharing with the field and management teams. Support the PDAS in the elaboration of reports, outputs of analysis, infographics, trend analyses and any other relevant output. Prepare lesson learned and share it with team in short trainings and/or briefings in order to improve data collection and first drafting of analysis by field staff.         Others: Any other request in the line of duties by the PVI and Data Analysis Specialist Support to data analysis of other GVC Missions in the Middle East, under the coordination of the Regional Protection Task Force.   Person Profile Essential University Degree in Information Technology or Statistics, and a background in social and human sciences. Previous experience in data management, data analysis and Information Management System is a must (at least 2 years). Written and Spoken English and Arabic proficiency Proven analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to details and accuracy. Excellent computer skills. Experience from 3 to 5 years Desirable Knowledge and experience with major softwares and automated systems for qualitative analysis Experience in drafting analytics and outreach reports for public and key stakeholders. Personal Strong and proven capacity of working diplomatically within an integrated multi-cultural project team. Independency in the line of work and proactivity in approaching and asking support and clarifications Dynamic and good sense of humor as the position will have continuous relation with different GVC teams.
