Field Monitor

GVC is an Italian NGO founded in 1971. Actually is working in 22 countries worldwide. GVC presence in Lebanon dates back to the begin of Syrian Crisis and since then GVC has been implementing emergency and development projects in Bekaa financed by International Donors mainly in WASH sector. GVC is recruiting personnel to cover the position of Field Monitor to support activities in Bekaa Position Title: Field Monitor-Nationals Only Reporting to: WASH Officer / Program Manager Duty station:  Al Ain Salary grade: G2 / L1 OBJECTIVES: GVC is seeking a Field Monitor for its programming. The Field Monitor will be responsible for assisting in the collection of data gathered on the field. Ensure information from beneficiaries are timely reported, follow up in tracking refugee’s movements. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The field monitor will be responsible to conduct field assessments through collective interviews, FGD or HH visits. The field monitor will be responsible for the good and correct collection of data using ODK methods. He/ She will be responsible to daily submit the information collected during the day. The field monitor will be responsible to assist during distribution activities, such as shelter kits, WASH supplies and other items in accordance with the planned activities; The field monitor will be responsible to monitor and follow up the correct and good progress of GVC WASH activities (PDMs included) The field monitor could be asked to support the implementation of community activities, weather required. The field monitor will be responsible to liaise with the refugee landlords, community leaders and beneficiary to collect information, solve disputes in case there will be the need and report to the line manager any problem he/she may face on the field. The field monitor is outreach GVC representatives at all times and he/she will be responsible for representing GVC appropriately to the community. The field monitor is responsible for preparing accurate and timely reports of their individual activities to the supervisor. In particular, this includes maintaining signed records of the engagement and activities with the community. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent Previous work in NGOs will be an asset Driving licence (mandatory) PERSONAL AND INTER-PERSONAL SKILLS Arabic and Fluency in written and spoken English Prior experience conducting field research, including conducting interviews Highly organised and able to work independently and respecting deadlines Strong sense of responsibility, flexibility and willingness to work long hours Being flexible and with the ability to adjust to changes and new requirements EMPLOYEMENT CONDITIONS Contract duration: 7 months; Required Starting Date: asap Duty Station: GVC Office – Al Ain North Bekaa.  NB: THE POSITION MIGHT BE FILLED BEFORE THE DEADLINE IN CASE A SUITABLE CANDIDATE WILL BE FOUND.
