Protection Monitor-2 Positions

GVC is an Italian NGO founded in 1971. Actually is working in 22 countries worldwide. GVC presence in Lebanon dates back to the begin of Syrian Crisis and since then GVC has been implementing emergency and development projects in Bekaa financed by International Donors mainly in WASH sector. GVC is actually recruiting personnel to cover the position of Protection Monitor to support activities in Bekaa Position Title: Protection Monitor-Nationals Only Reporting to: Protection Officer and Protection Coordinator Duty station: Al Ain Salary grade: G2/L1 OBJECTIVES: GVC is seeking for 2 Protection monitors for its protection action in the North Bekaa which will be responsible to strategically support the protection team while ensuring timely and good quality of protection of protection monitoring activities. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure data are timely collected on ODK and daily uploading Conduct Mobile Field Visits 4 times per week to informal settlements to meet with persons of concern within the community and identify individuals at risk and humanitarian needs as per monthly work plan Ensure coordination with the community empowerment staff and daily feedback to the protection team Ensure awareness sessions on protection issues are timely implemented Work to identify and support focal points and families within ITSs ensuring awareness, monitoring activities and follow-up. Keep records of cases in need of urgent protection, legal assistance, Health, WASH and SHELTER related issues Report on forms of child labor and early marriage Ensure information are timely shared with the protection officer Organize weekly plan in coordination with the protection team QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in social science, international law, or similar subject.   At least 2 years of previous experience in the humanitarian sector within the Protection sector Proficient with Excel, Word and Power point Previous work in NGOs will be an asset Driving licence PERSONAL AND INTER-PERSONAL SKILLS Arabic and Fluency in written and spoken English Good communication skills (with local authorities and communities) Understanding of and commitment to humanitarian principles and values Highly organised and able to work respecting deadlines Passionate in the job, with sense of Humour, flexibility and willingness to work long hours Ability to work in team with respect Being flexible and with the ability to adjust to changes and new requirements EMPLOYEMENT CONDITIONS Contract duration: 8 months full-time with possibility to renew; Required Starting Date: ASAP Duty Station: 100% North Bekaa (GVC Ain Office).    NB: THE POSITION MIGHT BE FILLED BEFORE THE DEADLINE IN CASE A SUITABLE CANDIDATE WILL BE FOUND.
