Social Activities Coordinator

SOCIAL Activities COORDINATOR OBJECTIVES: The Social Activity Coordinator will be responsible for the elaboration and implementation of the social activities component and the relations with all projects’ stakeholders MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: COMMUNICATION AND SOCIAL STRATEGY Analyze local contexts’ dynamics from a social point of view, to inform project decisions and GVC strategy; Liaise and communicate as appropriate with Local Authorities, Water Establishment operators, Local Associations, target communities and other partners for GVC projects; Elaborate projects’ social strategy for water infrastructure and management program in discussion with GVC Program Manager; Coordination with eventual External Consultants for Communication and Social campaigning; Assistance in preparation of MOU with communities / agreements with beneficiaries ACTIVITIES IMPLEMENTATION Coordinate GVC social activities: planning of surveys and awareness campaigns; Planning, Follow-up, monitoring and regular reporting for activities implemented directly and by local partners; Assist in the implementation of the action plan, review achievement and constraints and provide feedback accordingly; Assist Project Manager in preparing inception reports, work plans and regular donor progress and impact reports for the program; Data collection and data analysis from surveys conducted on the field; COORDINATION Production of capitalisation documents; Participate in inter‐NGO Coordination meetings; Ensure maximum visibility of GVC actions amongst the beneficiary communities; Supporting in the identification and elaboration of new project proposals PERSONAL AND INTER‐PERSONAL SKILLS Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic Good communication and negotiation skills Understanding of and commitment to humanitarian principles and values Creativity and willingness to improve the status quo of public institutions Highly organized and able to work respecting deadlines Strong sense of responsibility Ability to work independently while at the same time cooperating with other staff members as well as beneficiaries Deep knowledge of Bekaa would be considered an asset Flexibility and with the ability to adjust to changes and new requirements / Ability to multitask Capacity to train colleagues, occasional workers, partners’ staff and other people, with a specific methodology adapted to his/her interlocutors Driving license is a must. The candidate should have a valid DRIVING LICENSE and be ready to drive autonomously with GVC car between GVC offices and project areas
