Job Summary:
The MEAL Data Management Assistant supports the MEAL Department in managing data collection, entry, cleaning, analysis, and storage to ensure accurate and timely reporting. This role focuses on maintaining databases and supporting data-driven decision-making for projects and programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter, verify, and clean quantitative and qualitative data collected through field tools and Kobo forms.
- Maintain and regularly update project databases, trackers, and data management systems.
- Support the compilation and organization of data for monthly, quarterly, and donor reports.
- Assist in generating visual dashboards, charts, and summary tables for internal use.
- Ensure data confidentiality, accuracy, and consistency across all sources and tools.
- Support data collection teams by preparing templates and verifying completeness of submissions.
- Provide basic statistical summaries and pivot tables upon request from MEAL staff.
- Participate in data archiving and backup processes in coordination with the MEAL team.
- Perform additional MEAL-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Management Information Systems, Social Sciences, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data entry, data management, or M&E support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Kobo, and Google Sheets (knowledge of Power BI is an asset).
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Experience working within the Syrian and Lebanese context.
- Excellent written communication skills in English.
- Commitment to humanitarian principles and to advancing women’s rights.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility and cultural sensitivity when working with diverse teams and communities.
- Ability to work remotely and manage tasks independently.
- Safeguarding:
- Ensure safeguarding principles are integrated throughout all MEAL activities, including data collection, monitoring, and reporting.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for participants, especially vulnerable groups.
- Immediately report and support the appropriate handling of any safeguarding concerns or incidents in line with organizational policies and procedures.
