Project Officer

Background

The Women’s Programs Association (WPA) is a non-governmental organization registered in the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities in 2008 under license number 344. WPA targets Palestinian refugee women and youth in eight camps throughout Lebanon with a wide range of activities to build their capacity, skills, knowledge and assets to develop themselves and their families and widen their opportunity for employment and decent life.

WPA’s programs include skills training, support education to school drop-out children, adult literacy and numeracy and life skills, pre-school education, lending programs for micro-businesses and consumer loans, psycho-social support, awareness raising on wide range of topics of concerns to women and girls, social cohesion and recreational activities in addition to production units in food catering.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develop the workplan(s) for implementation of project(s) in coordination with the relevant teams in the centers, and share with them for execution
  • Follow up the technical teams on the progress of the project(s); and follow up with the center supervisor on the administrative and financial progress and their logistical support
  • Develop tools and systems to update management and donors’ reports
  • Follow up with and update the finance and administration departments on projects related issues
  • Prepare reports about the project progress and final reports to be submitted to the livelihood project coordinator
  • Maintain direct rapport with the implementing teams through regular meetings and regular field visits to assess progress and challenges and provide support where and as needed
  • Collaborate with the Livelihood project coordinator  and the MEAL Officer in developing tools for proper monitoring and evaluation for the project and ensure their application by the respective center’s teams
  • Liaise and follow up, in coordination with the Livelihood project coordinator , with the donor (s) on issues related to implementation progress, specific queries, clarifications …etc
  • Responsible of the outreach process inside Palestinian refugee camp in Tyre area
  • Responsible of data collection and weekly attendace sheets for project partiviantns and team
  • Responsible of logistics and transportation logistics
  • Attend the meetings and trainings assigned by the management or the donor 

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Psychology, Social sciences, Project Management or a related field and experience
  • At least five years of relevant experience with an NGO, in livelihood, in a senior position
  • At least three years of relevant experience working with adolescents and youth
  • Experience in leading and working through a team,
  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel, internet
  •  knowledge in Google drive, forms, and worksheets 
  • Experience in budget management and report writing
