Background

USAID’s “Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement” (QITABI 2) is a five-year program seeking to improve learning outcomes for all students in public primary schools in Lebanon. Its activity targets an estimated 200,000 girls and boys, including those who are registered in second shifts of public schools.

 

 

World Learning has an immediate call for a Beirut-based – Short term Consultancy: “ Content & Social Media Specialist” for the USAID-funded Quality Instruction Towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI 2) in Lebanon.

Scope and Responsibilities

The consultant will work on designing and implementing an outreach plan that utilizes relevant channels online and social media including Face Book, twitter and Instagram for the dissemination of information on program activities.
The consultant will work with QITABI Senior Communication Officer and Project Management team. S/he shall perform the services as follows:

 

  • Design and manage multimedia outlets and written content for use on social media including and promoting events calendar
  • Expanding the awareness of QITABI 2’s activities among the target audience, and achieving acquisition & activation of online target audience
  • Building audience smart data; analyze and profile audience; in addition to disseminating content through digital channels
  • Managing the QITABI 2 online community through different platforms
  • Produce virtual media campaign (enabling key messages, visual, FAQ’s, content material, posters, etc) promoting publications and program activities
  • Content management with the support of the communication team e.g. data, editing, artwork and other
  • Design user friendly and effective tool kits/templates for QITABI 2 online services including blogs, youtube channels etc. Generating creative concepts and effective ideas for digital engagement
  • Act promptly on information requests from QITABI 2 regarding all tasks related to this ToRs.
  • Liaise with the Director of Programs and the Communication Team.

 QITABI 2 will be responsible for providing the consultant with all necessary materials related to the project in a timely and transparent manner. It will be also responsible to provide clarifications and facilitation of the work.

 

 

 

 

 Required Qualifications:

 

  • University degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communication or journalism or related field
  • 5 years work experience in a similar role; social media management, content production, communications or other relevant fields
  • Good knowledge and understanding of multimedia production and editing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English with the ability to clearly articulate information to various audiences and stakeholders
  • Fluency in writing, speaking and understanding Arabic
  • Demonstrated track record of designing graphics and use of design software
  • Ability to establish positive relationships and to engage with various stakeholders
  • Demonstrated track record of conducting successful research, outreach and use M&E tools
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, including having excellent planning, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Working experience in international organizations or governmental environment is a plus.
  • Experience working in USAID projects is a plus

 

Competencies:

  • Thorough understanding of new and evolving technologies and digital platforms.
  • Experience in developing digital marketing and engagement strategies.
  • Experience with the design of social media campaigns.


 

The consultancy period is 96 days extended for period of 8 months between May - December 2020
