D-Rasati-Ii: Short-Term (Pss Material Sensitization & Adaptation Consultant)

Project Description:   Developing Rehabilitation Assistance to Schools and Teacher Improvement-II (D-RASATI-II) is a project that aims at enhancing student achievement in Lebanese public schools by training English teachers, developing extra-curricular activities, providing schools with ICT equipment and training, developing school leadership and building the capacity and tools necessary to support school improvement planning. D-RASATI-II is a 2-years project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).   Position Description:   World Learning is responsible for supporting Lebanese public schools that are hosting Syrian refugee students in all regions of Lebanon. This involves working on two levels: training public school teachers in English language, and building skills among school-based staff to reduce tensions in conflict-affected areas.   The PSS Material Sensitization & Adaptation Consultant is required to lead on the contextualized and adapted revision of the PSS themes, modules and sub-subjects to be used to train and capacity-build Ministry of Education staff and primary school teachers on the concepts and techniques of PSS intervention. This process will aim to build the awareness and skills among school- based staff to reduce tensions in public schools that host Syrian refugee children in all regions of Lebanon. In collaboration with the PSS Lead Trainer and Coaching Consultant, the PSS Material Sensitization & Adaptation Consultant will perform the following: Provide technical feedback on the PSS terminology used within the modules. Ensure the adaptation of the material to the cultural context. Suggest additional PSS topics / themes to be addressed within the developed materials. Ensure the comprehensiveness of the PSS material (covering all required aspects / knowledge areas). Advise on the form & structure of the PSS manuals to be disseminated at the schools level (practicality, effectiveness, content accuracy). Advise on best training practices based on field experience __________________________________     Position Requirements:   University degree in psychology, social work with experience in PSS, mental health, or another relevant degree At least 5 years of work experience in PSS interventions Cross-cultural working experience in the field of community based psychosocial support is desired Awareness of Lebanese public school context following a context-sensitive approach. Maintains confidentiality and respect towards beneficiaries. Good interpersonal and written and oral communication skills Experience in conducting / facilitating trainings Good reporting skills.
