Position Description:
World Learning is responsible for supporting Lebanese public schools that are hosting Syrian refugee students in all regions of Lebanon. This involves working on two levels: training principals and administrators on managing their schools according to the minimum standards of Education in Emergency (EiE) to provide the needed support to students.
The EiE Consultant is required to assist the schools with managing Education in Emergency (EiE) by training, coaching and mentoring school leaders and staff throughout the process.
Specific Job Description:
World Learning is seeking 5 EiE Consultants on a consulting basis able to perform the following:
Prepare the EiE training modules informed by Inter-Agency Network for Emergency in Education’s Minimum Standards for Education (INEE), and customize the modules based on the needs and realities of local schools.
Train school staff including principals, administrators, teachers, and staff of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) and Center for Education, Research and Development (CERD).
Mentor and coach participants throughout the pilot phase, training phase and after the implementation of the training through phone-coaching and direct school visits, and maintaining other regular communications.
Liaise with the EiE component coordinator for technical issues involving the trainings and materials, and other key issues related to the schools and participants throughout project implementation;
Submit regular updates as requested by the EiE coordinator on project activities, participants’ progress, and any key developments or challenges related to participants or project deliverables to the Program Associate and/or EiE Coordinator; provide other reports as requested or needed.
Desired Qualifications:
At least a BA degree in Education, Public Administration, Management, Sociology, Psychology or other relevant field with at least 10 years of relevant experience; or an MA in Education Administration and Leadership, Education, Sociology, Psychology or Public Administration with at least 5 years of relevant field experience.
Experience in training and/or facilitation/coaching;
Experience in training on INEE Minimum Standards for Education in Emergency strongly preferred;
Knowledge of Lebanese public schools and the public educational system;
Ability and willingness to deliver regional trainings in all different regions of Lebanon;
Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, internet research, etc.)
Excellent organizational, managerial, interpersonal, and communication skills
Lebanese citizenship
Ability and willingness to commit for the 1-year duration of the project strongly preferred;
Fluency in Arabic and English required; fluency in French preferred
Available to begin consulting work immediately
