Eyh- Short-Term Consultancy Mission

  Background: Expand Your Horizons (EYH), is a three year USAID-funded project that is implemented by World learning, AMIDEAST and KDC. EYH aims to build the technical and professional capacity of Lebanese organizations and their employees to play a more effective role in their community. This project is made possible by the generous support of the American People through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project aims to achieve this through: 1.      Strengthening the capacity of 150 organizations from various sectors and 400 of their employees in selected core skills and competencies through training and follow-on support activities. Increasing communications and networking among participating organizations and individuals. In order to achieve its goal, EYH identifies partner organizations from civil society, public, and private sector based on clear pre-set criteria and based on signed commitment letters. Partner organizations identify organizational needs and gaps through a self-assessment process covering major components of organizational capacity development.  EYH delivers capacity building interventions and training programs to respond to partner organization’s needs. Training is delivered by highly qualified training providers in Lebanon, the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) region, and/or the US and Europe based on the needs identified in the assessment process and translated into the Organizational and Individual Development plans.  EYH trainings are designed to support organizations in developing (a) new and applicable skills and knowledge for individual staff and, through knowledge transfer mechanisms, to their colleagues; (b) new and enhanced organizational services, outputs, and internal processes; (c) improved governance and other core functions; and (d) new or improved performance management systems through follow-on activities and knowledge transfer within the organizations.  EYH provides post-training support to the organizations’ staff to ensure and capture impact of the training solutions at the individual and organizational levels. Follow-on activities are designed to improve organizational performance and knowledge sharing, as well as establish networks among participating organizations and individuals.  Consultancy Mission Purpose: EYH has a menu of follow-on and post-training activities to be offered to partner organizations during the period from start of April till end of July 2015.  Consultant is expected to plan, manage, conduct and write final reports on series of post training and follow on activities determined by EYH team.  Consultancy Objectives: To plan, manage, conduct and develop final report on: Two (2) Round Table Discussion Meetings in subjects determined by EYH team. Two (2) Follow-on and Networking Sessions on cross-cutting issues determined by EYH team. Up to nine (9) Post-Training one-day Sessions in various subjects determined by EYH team. One (1) TOT workshop (5 days workshop) for EYH alumni.  Consultancy Terms of Reference (TOR): Consultant will work closely with selected experts/trainers and EYH team in running the above mentioned activities. Consultant will develop and conduct plans under the supervision of the EYH Project Director. Consultant will adopt EYH approach and methodology as per USAID rules, guidelines and procedures.  Consultancy Deliverables: Consultant is expected to deliver: Detailed plan of action and timeline sheet at start of mission. Final report on each activity within one week after end of each activity. Guidelines of content of report will be provided by EYH team. Content, annexes and detailed information/data/tools/material developed and used for the purpose of the above mentioned sessions.
