The UNICEF-funded Dirasa Program and Makani Program aim to provide multiple, flexible pathways for out-of-school children, tailored to meet each child’s unique learning needs. The programs will be implemented in private and semi-private schools, as well as community centers, targeting out-of-school children and providing retention support for students already enrolled in schools.
The Field Officer is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of the World Learning field-based team and facilitating program implementation within a specific region. This role serves as a key contact for school-level activities, collaborating with school staff and partners to enhance the quality of teaching and learning. The Field Officer will support data collection, logistics, conduct field visits, and provide coaching sessions. Additionally, they will report progress and challenges to the Program Coordinator and undertake other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
- Follow-up and coordinate WL field-based team day to day activities, support and facilitate the implementation of the program activities at the field level in a specific region
- Act as a focal point for various project activities at the school/center level
- Work closely with the partners- school observers to improve quality of teaching and learning in all programs.
- Collaborate with school staff (principals, teachers, and administrators) to facilitate learning and provide necessary support to improve the learning environment at the school. This includes Arabic and English Literacy or Arabic and French Literacy, math and numeracy, social emotional learning, data collection, data entry and verification, logistics, resources and teaching and learning materials (TLMs) distribution and dissemination.
- Conduct field visits as needed
- Conduct individual or group coaching sessions as needed
- Report with evidence to the program Coordinator on activities, progress, and challenges.
- Perform additional tasks as needed and requested by the project manager and the program coordinator, including support of other WL projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in providing coaching support.
- Excellent computer skills (outlook, excel, word, PowerPoint, video conferencing and online learning platforms)
- Excellent Arabic, and as a second language excellent French or EnglishCommitment to work under pressure and to deliver within timelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledgeable of the community they live in and its geography and needs
- Able to transport easily within one governorate
- Assess challenges and make advised decision
- Capacity to prioritize and good planning skills
- Capacity to work with different group of people
