IT Support - Full Time

Position Summary:

World Learning Lebanon is seeking a reliable and skilled Part-Time IT Support to provide technical assistance, maintain IT infrastructure, and support staff with digital tools across all operational and program activities. This role ensures the smooth operation, maintenance, and security of IT systems, hardware, software, and network infrastructure, keeping all systems functional and optimized for staff productivity.

The IT Support will provide day-to-day technical assistance to all World Learning projects and staff in Lebanon, including troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining hardware and software inventory, managing data backups, and supporting the implementation of IT standards and security policies in line with World Learning’s global IT procedures. Combining hands-on technical work with user support, this role requires both strong technical expertise and excellent interpersonal skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary focal point with World Learning’s Home Office IT team to ensure alignment on IT systems, configurations, troubleshooting, and policy compliance.
  • Provide daily IT support to all World Learning staff and projects, addressing hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and other IT equipment, ensuring optimal performance and security compliance.
  • Support in the configuration and maintenance of office network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and internet connectivity.
  • Maintain user accounts, email setup, and access permissions in coordination with the Finance and Operations Manager and the global IT team.
  • Ensure regular data backups and assist in maintaining data security and recovery mechanisms.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure updates, antivirus protection, and patches are applied consistently across all workstations.
  • Support in procurement and set up IT equipment in coordination with the Operations and Procurement teams.
  • Monitor and manage software licensing and renewals to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of shared platforms and cloud systems (OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Submit a monthly up-to-date IT asset inventory list and track the allocation of equipment to staff and projects.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and tagging of new IT equipment.
  • Ensure proper disposal or transfer of outdated or damaged IT equipment as per organizational policy.
  • Log and document all IT support requests and resolutions to improve troubleshooting efficiency and institutional learning.
  • Support staff through user training and guidance on IT procedures, tools, and security best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to World Learning’s IT security and acceptable usage policies and report any potential risks or violations.
  • Provide first-line cybersecurity awareness support and report potential threats or breaches.
  • Assist in preparing IT-related reports and documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and usage logs.
  • Provide IT support for virtual and in-person meetings, training, and events across WL projects.
  • Perform additional IT-related duties as required to support other World Learning projects and operational needs.
  • Conduct periodic awareness sessions for staff on IT and data security best practices.
  • Provide input for IT budget planning and procurement requests when needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in IT support and maintenance in an organizational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and enterprise software.
  • Experience with network setup, VPNs, printers, email systems, and backup mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, SharePoint, OneDrive, or Google Workspace.
  • Understanding of IT security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to assist non-technical staff effectively.
