Literacy French Consultant

World Learning seeks an “Literacy French Consultant” to contribute to the design and implementation of the Foreign Language Acquisition program for French as a first foreign language in Grades 9-12 public schools in Lebanon under its Quality Instruction Towards Access and Basic Education Improvement 3 (QITABI 3) program.

Scope:
The consultant will work closely with World Learning’s Beirut office Language Programs Specialist to contribute to the implementation of the Foreign Language Acquisition program for French as a first foreign language in Grades 9–12 public schools in Lebanon.
The consultant will be reporting to the World Learning Language Programs Specialist in Lebanon and will collaborate with the language programs team and report timely on all deliverables.
The consultant will be able to develop training material and deliver training sessions when needed. In addition, the consultant will be conducting school visits for the purpose of monitoring and evaluation.

Main Responsibilities:
• Develop training material for teacher training and field team training.
• Deliver training sessions for teachers and the field team.
• Participate actively in meetings/conference calls and workshops and additional planning with consideration for different times.
Other:
• The duration of this contract shall be completed within 7 months, with a Maximum of 30 workingdays on the basis of a maximum of 4 days per week.
• Renewal and continuity of the consultancy agreement will depend on the performance and budgetavailability
• The Consultant will be requested to come to the WL - QITABI 3 office when needed.

• Master’s in education, linguistics, or a related field

• A strong command of the French language

• At least 5-7 years of experience in the teaching, learning and assessment of French as a first foreign language in Middle and High Schools

• Experienced in developing training material and delivering training for French language programs in Middle and High schools

• Experienced in inquiry-based learning or project-based learning

• Experienced in curriculum mapping and articulation

• Advanced skills in developing diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment

• Adopt research based instructional methods effective for middle and high school.
