Parental Engagement and Strategic Planning facilitator

The USAID-funded QITABI3 project is designed to build on the success of past USAID investments through the QITABI and QITABI 2 mechanisms with significant MEHE support. This project will strengthen MEHE’s ownership for the development and strengthening of national-level evidence-based quality education. QITABI 3 will build upon past partnership and collaboration with the MEHE and leverage the MEHE commitment to bring quality early-grade learning to the national scale while providing the requisite technical assistance and financial resources to support the MEHE and relevant partners. This project will work with MEHE and CERD to design and implement targeted interventions to improve reading, math, social and emotional learning, and life skills and youth programs for students, including children with disabilities, by building the institutional capacity of government counterparts to deliver quality education services.

World Learning seeks a Parental Engagement and Strategic Planning facilitator who will work in close coordination with QITABI-3 SEL and parental engagement teams to provide support and capacity building to public schools in Lebanon.

Main Responsibilities

Support in planning and delivering capacity building sessions for Ministry of Education staff, public school administrators and staff (around Lebanon) through engaging, relevant, and culturally/contextually sound activities.

Determine relevant approaches to implement strategic planning for schools tailored to their identified PE (Parental Engagement) needs; content should cover foundational strategic planning principles including goal setting, action plans, resource allocation, and performance allocation.

Support schools in developing innovative and effective strategies to engage parents, caregivers, and other community members in the school improvement process.

Apply facilitation approaches that are designed to ensure sensitivity, respect, and consideration for diverse audiences.

Provide support through monthly check-in meetings and follow-up sessions with the schools to ensure continuity and smooth implementation of the school PE plan.

Support schools in the data collection and documentation process to ensure systematic collection of data for evidence driven school strategic planning.

Work in close collaboration with SEL team and other teams/partners involved to ensure coherence, consistency, and smooth implementation of PE plan.

Report on monthly progress to better inform and refine the process of implementation for the schools.

Participate in research dissemination meetings with schools, and other relevant entities.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of an MA degree in a related field in strategic planning, public policy, community participation, social work, development studies or related field.
  • Relevant working experience in social and emotional development, parental and community engagement.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant training experience with diverse audiences in the field of education.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in Arabic, and English is highly desired.

A Parental Engagement and Strategic Planning facilitator should possess visionary thinking, analytical skills, a strategic mindset, a collaborative approach, flexibility, cultural competence and sensitivity, leadership and influence, strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement. These dispositions enable the facilitator to effectively develop, implement, and refine PE strategies that meet the needs of diverse stakeholders and achieve long-term educational goals.
