Reading Program Officer

The reading officer will support in the implementation of QITABI activities and will act as liaison between the QITABI management, component leads, partners, staff and other as required

Research

  • Provide technical expertise in developing desk reviews and conducting research and data collection
  • Participate in reviewing, analyzing and summarizing background documentation, policy documents and writing reports
  • Participate in conducting research to identify appropriate program components activities and assist in drafting proposals/concept notes and papers.
  • Assist in the backstopping of program in close collaboration with component leaders
  • Support in reporting process by retrieving/processing data, updating data based on a pre-defined report structure, and can analyze/interpret data to produce insights and recommendations
  • Contribute and assist in the production of regular reports (weekly, quarterly and component Work Plan). This will include producing PowerPoint presentations, analysis of surveys, infographics, technical reports and recommendation papers
  • Prepare briefings and program materials

Administration

  • Provide daily administrative support by creating calendars, scheduling appointments for internal and external events, providing logistical support, recording and disseminating meeting minutes, drafting correspondence and coordinating travel/field visits· arrangements
  • Facilitate the implementation of activities upon request and assist in the related follow-up and reporting.
  • Coordinate and participate field activities, data collection as necessary
  • Provide technical assistance in developing educational materials (teacher kits, training manuals, guides, etc.) including revision and edits
  • Maintain data files (electronically and manually) and manage internal databases
  • Rep resent WU Project at meetings and conferences, relevant to the subject and themes of the portfolio and disseminate information regarding WL, as requested
  • Participate in internal working groups, as requested or assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • MA in Education or other related fields
  • Experience in coordination in similar educational programs is preferred
  • Previous experience with a non-profit organization, with International NGO is preferred
  • Proven strong written and oral communication skills in English and preferably Arabic
  • Ability to work as a team player and adapt to quick changing situations
  • Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational ability
  • Computer and Internet proficiency, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
