The UNICEF-funded Dirasa Program and Makani Program aim to offer multiple, flexible pathways for out-of-school children, tailored to meet each child's unique learning needs. These programs will be implemented in private and semi-private schools, as well as community centers, targeting out-of-school children while also providing retention support for students currently enrolled in schools.
The SEL Officer will align training materials with the National SEL framework, deliver training sessions, provide technical expertise, organize training content, and collaborate effectively with team members. Their responsibilities will include developing SEL guidelines, integrating SEL into lesson plans, allocating resources, and handling additional tasks as needed.
Main Responsibilities
- The “SEL Officer” will report to the Program Coordinator in close coordination with the Project Manager
- Align preparation of training material using the National SEL framework as a point of reference
- Conduct and deliver training of trainers and training of teachers.
- Provide technical input to design, execute, and monitor progress of the training
- Ensure organization of comprehensive training modules/content
- Work effectively and in collaboration with other team members in to ensure the smooth implementation of all trainings and other activities defined within the scope of the work
- Develop SEL scope and sequence based on international best practices and based on the National SEL framework
- Embed elements of social and emotional learning into model lesson plans.
- Allocate and develop SEL resources for students and teachers
- Perform additional tasks as needed and requested by the Project Manager
Required Qualifications
- Solid understanding of social and emotional learning, human development, child development, contextual factors impacting development, holistic learning approach.
- Proven ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Fluency in Arabic, and English is highly desired.
- Able to travel in Lebanon for conferences/meetings/training/school visits.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and flexibility with project demands
