The Porticus-funded “Towards a Social and Emotional Learning Policy for Children in Lebanon” aims to devise a national roadmap toward establishing solid foundations from which to facilitate the development of a comprehensive SEL policy for Lebanon; policies in SEL will ensure a systematic integration and institutionalization of an SEL culture into both formal and non-formal educational system.
World Learning has an immediate vacancy for its Beirut-based “CRDP SEL Consultant” for the Porticus-funded “Towards a Social and Emotional Learning Policy for Children in Lebanon”. This position is for a Lebanese national.
Scope and Responsibilities
The “CRDP SEL consultant” for the Porticus-funded “Towards a Social and Emotional Learning Policy for Children in Lebanon” will be responsible for the support of Center for Educational Research and Development - CRDP to explore all the potential initiatives and areas to integrate SEL in education (curricula, teachers’ training materials etc.)
• Contributing to the provision of relevant data and evidence that would feed into the development of the roadmap for a SEL policy.
• Technical contribution to the core technical team and other relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborating and coordinating with the core technical team, in coordination with all other consultant to follow up on deliverables
• Contributing to the consolidation, analysis and validation of findings and exploring additional areas of inquiry for the SEL policy.
• Participating in reflection sessions with all the relevant teams.
• Supporting in drafting the final report in collaboration with the relevant teams
• Attending and participating in regular meetings and working sessions.
Required Qualifications:
• MA in Educational Psychology, Education, Social Studies, Clinical Psychology, or relevant fields
• A minimum of 5-years of research experience in relevant field preferably in primary/elementary years
• Excellent capacity in communication and facilitation skills
• Expertise SEL, PSS, Life Skills, and similar programs
• Excellent relationship management skills
• Solid knowledge of Lebanon’s National SOPs and CRDP structure
• Solid knowledge of SEL mainstreaming in Education
• Excellent analysis, reporting and M&E skills and experience evaluating knowledge acquisition
• Ensure safeguarding requirements are applied and reflected in the solicitation and contract as applicable
