World Learning has an immediate vacancy for its Beirut-based “Education and Policy Expert” for the Porticus “Towards a SEL Policy for Children in Lebanon”. This position is for a Lebanese national.
The Porticus-funded “Towards a Social and Emotional Learning Policy for Children in Lebanon” aims to devise a national roadmap toward establishing solid foundations from which to facilitate the development of a comprehensive SEL policy for Lebanon; policies in SEL will ensure a systematic integration and institutionalization of an SEL culture into both formal and non-formal educational system.
Scope and Responsibilities
The “Education and Policy Expert ” for the Porticus-funded “Towards a Social and Emotional Learning Policy for Children in Lebanon” will be responsible for the review of stakeholders and steering committee’s responsibilities. Institutionalizing SEL, PSS and Life Skills practices through a clear and sustainable modality.
- Contributing in drafting templates or methodology of mapping.
- Contributing in preparing training material to focus group discussion and coaching implementation; compile feedback
- Contributing and supporting in validating findings and explore additional areas of inquiry.
- Collaborating in analyzing, reflecting and writing (short and long-term goals)
- Collaborating in drafting the final report
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent capacity in Education and Policy development.
- Expertise SEL, PSS, Life Skills related programs and projects.
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Solid knowledge of Lebanon’s National SOPs and MEHE structure.
- Solid knowledge of SEL mainstreaming in Education and system functioning.
- Excellent analysis, reporting and M&E skills and experience evaluating knowledge acquisition and learning from workshops.
Educational background:
- MA in Education and/or Education Policies
- 5 years of experience in policy drafting
