World Learning – Porticus: SEL academic/research Expert

World Learning has an immediate vacancy for its Beirut-based “SEL academic/research Expert” for the Porticus Project.
Project title: Porticus - “Towards a Social and Emotional Learning Policy for Children in Lebanon” 
This projects aims to devise a national road map toward establishing solid foundations from which to facilitate the development of a comprehensive SEL policy for Lebanon; policies in SEL will ensure a systematic integration and institutionalization of an SEL culture into both formal and non-formal educational system.

Scope and Responsibilities

The “SEL academic/research Expert” for the Porticus-funded “Towards a Social and Emotional Learning Policy for Children in Lebanon” will be responsible for the Desk review of all PSS, Life skills, and SEL programs implemented in Lebanon, including reviewing their theories of change.

•  Contributing in drafting templates or methodology of mapping.
• Contributing in preparing training material to focus group discussion and coaching implementation; compile feedback
• Validating findings and explore additional areas of inquiry
• Collaborating in analyzing, reflecting and writing (short and long-term goals)
• Drafting the final report in collaboration with the other consultants

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent capacity in research, communication and facilitation skills
• Expertise SEL, PSS, Life Skills and similar programs
• Excellent relationship management skills
• Solid knowledge of Lebanon’s National SOPs and MEHE structure
• Solid knowledge of SEL mainstreaming in Education
• Excellent analysis, reporting and M&E skills and experience evaluating knowledge acquisition and learning from workshops

Educational background:

• MA in Educational Psychology or Clinical Psychology
• 5-years of experience in research field

• Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables.
