World Learning – QITABI 2: System Engineer Expert Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement” QITABI 2 Program Background USAID’s “Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement” (QITABI 2) is a five-year program seeking to improve learning outcomes for all students in public primary schools in Lebanon. Its activity targets an estimated 200,000 girls and boys, including those who are registered in second shifts of public schools. World Learning has an immediate vacancy for its Beirut-based “System Engineer Expert” for the USAID-funded Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI II) in Lebanon. Scope and Responsibilities The QITABI 2 is supporting modernizing CERD technology structure. The Datacenter at CERD Sin El Fil location needs to become highly available, therefore, the aim is to perform a full study on the available hardware and the needed upgrades to assure that CERD has high system availability. • Identify potential technical issues and recommend possible solutions. • Identify the needed upgrades and configurations to assure the high availability at CERD’s Datacenter • Collaborate with QITABI 2 IT manager and officer before and during the assignment • Produce a detailed BOQ with detailed specs for the needed upgrades. • Collaborative approach and timely delivery of the agreed-on tasks • Conduct field visits and meticulous examination of the site • Perform all other related duties as assigned Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering. • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) • 5-plus years of experience in server/hosting systems and infrastructure engineering • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Proven ability to produce BOQ • Strong communication skills, Arabic and English (written and spoken) • Experienced Server and Hosting Systems Engineer and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE). • Good organizational and time management skills • Must be able to legally work in Lebanon World Learning is an equal employment opportunity committed to increasing the diversity of its workforce.
