World Learning: SBP Project Manager

The UNICEF-funded” School Bridging Program” a school-based bridging program aims to create for out-of-school children multiple pathways that are flexible and responsive to each child’s unique learning needs. The program will be implemented in 20 private schools and is estimated to target 5,000 out of school children.

World Learning has an immediate vacancy for its Beirut-based “Project Manager” for the UNICEF “School Bridging Program”. This position is for a Lebanese national.

 

 

Scope and Responsibilities

S/he will be responsible for coordinating, overlooking, and ensuring day to day smooth implementation of project activities and adherence to logistics and administration at the central and regional level. His/ her responsibilities will include:

  • Provide overall management for the program;
  • Oversee program administration, implementation, outreach and monitoring of project activities, to ensure compliance with donor rules and regulations, in accordance with project objectives;
  • Oversee and monitor quality of all program activities, and ensure reports, work plans, and other program deliverables are timely and of high quality;
  • Responsible for the performance management of the field team’s work and reports including but not limited to weekly/ monthly work plan and visit reports schedules at the Central and regional level;
  • Serve as overall communications/liaison with implementing partners and key stakeholders;
  • Coordinate regularly with World Learning leadership team, providing timely updates of all situational, security, and program developments;
  • Follow up the impact of the field intervention and ensure the documentation of best practices /lessons learnt/ case studies, to shape strategies and approaches and contribute to broader teaching and learning;
  • Manage and supervise team of local staff;
  • Represent World Learning at working groups, and meetings;
  • Other responsibilities as necessary.
 

 

 Required Qualifications: 
  • Master’s degree in management, education, social sciences, or a relevant field
  • 5-7 years of demonstrated relevant experience, specifically in project management
  • Demonstrated experience working on donor funded projects with similar scopes of work
  • Demonstrated knowledge of donor rules, regulations, and reporting requirements desired
  • Professional working knowledge of English and Arabic is required
  • Ability to mobilize and motivate teams drawn from different backgrounds, disciplines, and programs to work together on joint initiatives to produce high-quality publications and other communications
  • Demonstrated experience in working in the Lebanese education sector
  • Excellent coordination, teamwork, facilitation, and reporting skills
  • Ability to travel within the country
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and flexibility with project demands

 

 

Duration of the Assignment

8 months with possibilities of renewal
