Business Facilitator

Purpose of Position   To build, coach and mobilize sustainable business networks capable of fostering entrepreneurial capacity, business talent, and ideas in order to improve individual and group economic activities, thereby supporting the project “Livelihood for Palestinians” in Bourj El Shamali camp. To assist in on putting together projects’ goals that meet World Vision standards and policies in addressing refugees’ needs in a sustainable manner and leave considerable positive impact on the targeted beneficiaries.   Major Responsibilities   Mobilization: Mobilize business groups mobilization, sensitization and awareness creation so that local people can produce more, buy inputs better or sell their products more profitably S/he will be responsible for identifying potential beneficiaries, responding to inquiries, and increasing our existing pool of beneficiaries; Strengthen the relationships between individuals in groups, which would ensure continuity and collaboration   Facilitating/Organization: Identify training needs among the members, and conduct regular trainings among different groups Provide technical advice one on one basis or in group to aspire entrepreneurs on how to improve the effectiveness of their proposed enterprises and how to expand their access to markets, quality control ,debt management ect. ; Arrange the logistics for monthly meetings and present monthly reports and to the Project Manager Facilitating business meetings with identified groups, on a regular basis, ensuring continuity in attendance of individuals of interest Develop a good understanding of the relationships and trust levels among the group members, and how this might affect their collaboration     Recording/Reporting/Evaluating: Update comprehensive data base of local networks and service provides that can assist community members with economic development Records form for new clients and develop and maintain an effective up to date data base that tracks the progress f each towards their goals     Flexibility Flexibility to engage in relief or any other activities needed to support economic recovery in the area.     Work Contacts   Close collaboration with “Livelihood for Palestinians” Project Manager, Economic Development Specialist, and partner staff.     Work Conditions   Should be willing to spend 100% of the time on the field.   Independence of Operations   Reports directly to the Livelihood Project coordinator.   Minimum Requirements   Knowledge and Skills: University degree in Business, Marketing, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Economics, Commerce, and/or International Development Practical business knowledge Excellent command in Arabic Language, working knowledge of English  A community-oriented person with a university degree in a field related to community development work (preferably with experience in a field such as sociology, public health, agriculture, economics, etc.). Experienced in building relationships and networks with individuals, communities and development partners. Highly developed interpersonal skills Motivated and goal orientated     Experience: Up to two years of relevant work experience (e.g. capacity building, women’s economic empowerment, business administration);  Indicate knowledge of and experience in Palestinian refugee camp in Tyre. Demonstrated experience in business development services, community economic development, community empowerment, working with community based organizations. Strong experience in networking Demonstrated experience in report writing     Core Competencies: Ability to influence individuals and groups Capability as an effective public speaker Ability to build collaborative relations Ability to develop and conduct training Achieving quality results and service Ability to think deeply and broadly   General: A full commitment to World Vision’s core value and humanitarian mandate. Good interpersonal skills and cross cultural sensitivity. Creative and initiative taker. Positive attitude with a continuous willingness to learn Ability to self manage and analyze Major flexibility in accomplishing tasks. Ability to cope and work under pressure.
