Business Group Facilitator

Purpose of Position   To mobilize and support in the creation of  sustainable business groups capable of enhancing the business environment for the small businesses operating in Bourj El Shemali camp, in  order to improve individual and group economic activities, thereby supporting the  project “Livelihood for Palestinians”. To assist in on putting together projects’ goals that meet World Vision standards and policies in addressing refugees’ needs in a sustainable manner and leave considerable positive impact on the targeted beneficiaries.   Major Responsibilities   Mobilizing: Identify business owner and/or individuals with the proper knowledge, skills, experience, and willingness to participate in the groups Identify existing groups- savings, neighborhood, family, women’s, etc.- and determine whether to partner with or build on them for the creation of new groups   Facilitating: Hold meetings with identified groups, on a regular basis, ensuring continuity in attendance of individuals of interest Ensure the discussions adhere to collaboration; finding solutions to common problems through working together as a unit Strengthen the relationships between individuals in groups, which would ensure continuity and collaboration Develop a good understanding of the relationships and trust levels among the group members, and how this might affect their collaboration Ensure documentation of minutes of meetings and other relevant information.    Empowering: Act as a catalyst by equipping and empowering community members to move forward and take responsibility for community-based development through strategic thinking and planning.   Networking and technical Regularly update the database of local organizations, institutions, MFIs, training centers, and such bodies developed by the Business Coach Identify training needs among the members    EDUCATION / SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:             Education Certificate and/or diploma in sectors such as Mobilization, Social Animation, Social Development, Economics, Business and Marketing, or any field related topic   Knowledge and Skills Practical business knowledge Experienced in building relationships and networks with individuals, communities and       development partners. Highly developed interpersonal skills Motivated and goal orientated Good command of English and Arabic, both oral and written. Good interpersonal skills and cross cultural sensitivity.  Experience  Demonstrated experience in community economic development, community mobilization and empowerment or proven record in working with community based organizations.
