Digital Learning Hub Mentor
Major Responsibilities
To help strategy for e-learning component under NLG.
To promote innovation in the use of e-Learning, teaching and research throughout the curriculum of NLG teachers, as well as supporting communities where digital hubs are placed.
To enable and support all staff in the training and curriculum changes needed to utilize new technologies and learning materials.
Advise appropriate managers on which areas of the currently used curriculum can be redesigned/enhanced using e-Learning.
Liaises with the relevant individuals to lead in the implementation and further development of the project’s strategies relating to e-learning.
Participates, when necessary, in appropriate working group committees for ICT in classrooms.
Recognize trouble spots that might make e-learning difficult for beginners
Understanding how to engage students on the internet by providing e-learning modules that are relevant to the potential students’ age and skill level, by providing learning games for younger students.
Requires the understanding of learning results desired and turning this information into online content with a user-friendly interface (ideally).
The mentor meets with teachers to discuss the learning formats and testing that can be built into the program.
May also seek out textbook publishers and relevant individuals to get permission to link only content that they may provide.
Build network with key organizations involved with ICT in education.
Strengthen the understanding of community development and ownership of computer labs.
Communicate effectively World Vision’s identity, mission, vision, values and its approach in order to work in ways that are contextually appropriate and clear.
Knowledge and Skills
Strong understanding of education techniques using ICT
Strong understanding of computer design, with knowledge of making accessible, flexible, and straightforward for users.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office package.
Customize and author lessons using existing learning management software
Strong facilitation skills
Strong communication skills and cross cultural sensitivity
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability and commitment to listen to others
Very good command of Arabic and English
Creative and initiative taker.
Experience
2 to 3 years experience in a field related to education, ideally ICT in Education, or computer technology.
