Purpose:
To identify protection concerns within WV areas of operations (central and west Bekka) and manage sensitive information in line with ICRC’s Professional Standards for Protection Work, refer matters in line with existing inter-agency referral mechanisms and internal WV guidance where relevant including Protection DADDS and provide ongoing monitoring in line with Protection DADDs, ensure protection is mainstreamed in all projects and propose new activities according to identified needs.
Major Tasks:

Attend sessions at the CFS and ALP to observe and be available for assisting with information provision and referrals of cases
Monitor protection risks and needs in projects sites
Biweekly reporting on protection activities
Organize daily and weekly work plan for protection assistants
Receive identified protection cases from field staff, refer them to adequate service providers
Meet regularly with other agencies and follow up on cases referred to them
Disseminate and share information on available services to staff and beneficiaries
Ensure proper filing is done regarding every case, visit and discussion. Report must be written mentioning major points in addition to recommendations and follow-up plan.
Discuss with other social workers specific case studies for better intervention.
Maintain adequate safeguards for the privacy of the family and confidentiality of information.
Write a monthly report about the evolution of work and show the results reached in this specific aspect.
Participate in all coordination meetings required
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Understanding of humanitarian work, principles and challenges
Minimum 3 years experience in social work.
Experience in project implementation, monitoring and report writing.
Good command of English, both written and oral.
Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
Flexibility in accomplishing tasks.
Ability to cope and work under pressure.
Computer literate mainly in Microsoft Office package.
Willing to travel within Lebanon with a valid driver’s license.
Well-organized,self-motivated and ability to work in a team
