Project Description
The NLG initiative strives to work in partnership with governments and local communities to deliver safe education, protection from exploitation, abuse and violence, psychological care and support and offer more opportunities for social cohesion and stability, while strengthening national and community based child protection systems. The initiative also aims to scale access to early learning and quality education through formal and non-formal approaches. Moreover, NLG covers many components, including Child Friendly Spaces for children aged 7-12 years, Early Childhood Education for children aged 3-5 years old, and Early Childhood Development for caregivers of children aged 0-3 years old.
2- Specific objective of the consultancy:
In order to present and shed light on NLG’s achievement and impact on the Syrian refugee and host children as well as the community, the consultant freelance writer is expected to:
Consolidate the different types of reports and information gathered by World Vision Lebanon (WVL), throughout the life of the project. The reports are mainly focused on beneficiaries’ feedback, and will consist of monitoring reports, accountability and feedback reports, donor reports, success stories, etc;
Draft a narrative report (10 pages) in English clearly highlighting the project’s impact and increasing its visibility to wider audiences, at a national and international level. The audiences can include donors, local and international partners, ministries, United Nations and government agencies, media, etc;
Submit a draft narrative report to the Design, Monitoring and Evaluation (DME) focal person for feedback. The focal person will coordinate with the relevant committee members from each department for input and feedback, including: a) Design, Monitoring, and Evaluation team; b) Project Manager; c) Resource Acquisition and Management team; d) Technical Specialists; and e) Communications team;
Incorporate World Vision’s feedback and draft a final narrative report in English; and
Continuously coordinate with WVL to ensure that deliverables are achieved.

Meeting with WVL committee members to discuss the objectives and deliverables of the consultancy, as well as receiving the consolidated documents/reports and samples of WVL published reports

Writing the narrative report (10 pages) in English, and submitting the draft report to the DME focal person, who will be coordinating with the committee members for feedback
Note: The consultant is expected to share the progress of the report at least 2 times before the submission of the draft report, in order to provide guidance and review of the writing process.

WVL provides feedback to the consultant on the draft report

Incorporating feedback on the draft report, and submitting a final report in English

The consultant is expected to provide services between mid of March 2016 and mid of May 2016, for 10 consecutive working days. Timeline details will be discussed and agreed with the chosen candidate in due time.

4- Required Skills and Experience:
Prospective consultants should demonstrate to have:

Communications and media experience is preferable
Willingness and flexibility to receive feedback
Ability to deliver with quality, rigour and accuracy in a timely manner
