MAJOR TASKS:
Prepare and review for the National Office all the daily financial transactions, ensuring all transactions are approved and that all supporting documentation is accurate and available.
Process the payments and issue checks according to the received payment orders.
Make sure all cheques are signed, photocopied and filed appropriately
Review the backup documents for all payments as per World Vision’s financial policies, ensuring that all necessary documents are available and in place.
Prepare disbursements and vouchers. Ensure that transactions are complete and accurate.
Process the payments for vendor according to received invoices and internal financial policies.
Handle cheques to staff, vendors, partners, etc. as per World Vision Lebanon’s procedures.
Control and process the Petty Cash payment for the National Office
Handle staff medical bills payments.
Receive cash when applicable and issue receipts.
Handle travel advance for World Vision Lebanon staff
Handle all incoming phone calls related to World Vision Lebanon payments.
Performs daily data entry.
Prepare proper coding on all vouchers for valid account/cost center/donor combinations.
Prepare regular entries to the general journal; make data entry after supervisor’s approval.
Print ledger, journal listing, and account listing, etc. from the Sun System.
Perform back up for the Sun System
Maintain a filing system for all the monthly vouchers and other financial documentation as needed.
Maintain and file all receipts for World Vision Lebanon National Office, projects and Grants.
Prepare the monthly bank reconciliation for NO Balance Sheet accounts and follow up with the bank on any reconciliation items and outstanding checks.
Follow up on advances and other receivables and payables older than 30 days.
Review and reconcile Business travel advances for all the national office employees on a monthly basis
Prepare the PBAS reconciliation on a monthly basis.
Reconcile other balance sheet accounts.
EDUCATION / SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge and Skills
Good communication skills
Good knowledge of accounting theory and financial analysis.
Strong computer skills, knowledge of computerized accounting software.
Ability to work out of office environment and work hours.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Experience
Two years in a similar job and in financial reporting
Experience in bookkeeping and inventory management
Sun System Experience is desirable.
Work Environment:
• Office-based (100%). No travel to the field required
Position requires willingness and ability to continue to function during a crisis situation, including during a World Vision response to a manmade or natural disaster
