Consultancy Request Research Assistant Background info about the project: WV Lebanon is working with the national committee on the issue of children who are from Lebanese fathers but don’t have their Lebanese citizenship. The committee is working on analyzing the problem, its root causes and the possible solutions to make sure that every child has the citizenship. The committee will also be conducting a national awareness campaign during 2013. The purpose of the required consultancy: WVL will be supporting the committee in the planning and implementation of the awareness campaign. As a basis for the campaign, WVL is requesting a research assistant to conduct a national assessment around the issue of children who are from Lebanese fathers but don’t have their Lebanese citizenship. The assessment aims at: Developing an estimate of the number of Children who are from Lebanese fathers and don’t have their citizenship disaggregated by sex, age, governorates. (Committee will support with the sources of information) Conducting a quantitative and qualitative assessment around the root causes behind the problem and the challenges and consequences of not having a citizenship. (Identification of Children and parents will be supported by the National committee and WV) Required Tasks: Follow up on the data collection regarding the estimated numbers with support from national committee. Assist in the development of the assessment methodology, questionnaire and FGD tools. Follow up on data collection and conduct the data analysis Develop an assessment report with the findings Consultancy Period The consultancy period is from March 15, 2013 to May 15, 2013 Qualifications required: Research skills, excellent English writing skills, excellent facilitation skills and previous experience in research assessments.
