WORK CONTEXT / BACKGROUND:
Sponsorship is the vehicle through which child well being is achieved and monitored
Sponsorship programs are designed to support a child-focused development while engaging sponsors in feeling the impact interventions.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The purpose of the Sponsorship support officer role is to provide support to ADP (Area Development Program) sponsorship operations staff contributing to the child well being of children and transformation of supporter in alignment with the sponsorship strategy and plans.
The role will be responsible for managing sponsorship by ensuring sponsorship quality and building capacity and implementing the quality assurance at all levels of sponsorship programming and sponsorship 2.0.
MAJOR TASKS:
I. Enhanced sponsorship Integration in programming processes
Collaborate with other sectors and lines of ministry to ensure optimal integration between their sectors and sponsorship within the country.
Ensure that sponsorship key messaging is integrated in all key sponsorship /program activities to shift the paradigm of sponsorship administration to programming
Collaborate with Health, education, child protection, teams on sector issues as a result of child monitoring – STEP data -
Provide quality Child monitoring standard, sponsorship minimum programming standard, Quick STEP and sponsorship standard training to staff and volunteers.
Contribute to development / contextualization of sponsorship tools and resources relating to programming to ensure that sponsorship components are integrated and addressed as appropriate.
Involve and be part of key evaluation processes and sponsorship feasibility assessments.
Collaborate with the DPA change management lead & DME in the design and redesign /transition phase of ADPs including the review of documents to ensure that Sponsorship minimum programming standard is integrated.
II. Quality Assurance
Extract data from the STEP system and perform quality analysis as needed in order to monitor the child well being outcomes
Conduct and / or participate in sponsorship assessments, reviews and evaluations and other learning and accountability processes at national and ADP level
Coordinate Operations Audit and other accountability review processes at national and ADPs and manage implementation of recommendations to ensure that identified gaps are addressed
Support ADPs sponsorship staff in ensuring adherence to policies, protocols and standards related to sponsorship operations
Monitor the processes for ongoing assurance that sponsorship data is updated in STEP and that the information is used by ADPs to inform programming regularly
III. Capacity building and coordination
Provide support and training on sponsorship development approach to the ADP staff and provide contextualized sponsorship basic training materials to ADP staff and volunteers.
Provide guidance to orientation and training of volunteers and partners on sponsorship as part of ongoing integrated capacity building plans
Collaborate with IT in ensuring adequate training of sponsorship staff on sponsorship systems as necessary and appropriate
In collaboration with communications and IT, develop a plan of implementing sponsorship 2.0 across ADPs, focusing on utilizing new technologies methodologies to communicate with sponsors
Produce monthly or quarterly newsletter to be shared with support office and with the partnership highlighting the sponsorship news of sponsored and registered children
In collaboration with the communications department, publish stories about successes, progress and needs of sponsored and registered children or stories that would highlight the success of the sponsorship department and profile its achievements
Develop user child friendly kit to raise the visibility of sponsorship and train staff involved and ensures that community is benefiting from sponsorship 2.0 initiatives
Empower the ADP sponsorship team with the required operational/technical support to ensure a smooth decentralization transition phase
IV. SUBMIT MONTHLY REPORTS TO THE SPONSORSHIP MANAGER
Submit monthly administrative and ADP sponsorship performance reports to the sponsorship manager
V. KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
Document learning at various levels (NO/ ADP/ Community)
Compile all publications chronologically and by theme
Compile all tools contextualized
VI. PERFORM ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in local and international Capacity Building events as required
Attend and participate in staff spiritual nurture events as well as other organizational events.
Assist the communications officer in the preparation of stories about registered children
Assist the sponsorship office coordinator in filling data during rush time
EDUCATION / SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Education
University Degree preferable in the following majors: Social work, Community Development, Sociology or Public Administration
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent command of English and Arabic both oral & written
Computer literacy mainly with MS Office Software
Good communication skills; able to foster team work spirit with the project staff, children, families and casual workers.
Ability to demonstrate strong collaborative team and networking
Ability to perform secretarial duties as required (Filing, typing, etc.)
Flexibility with working hours when necessary, able and willing to work long hours and travel frequently
Good facilitation skills
Experience
At least one year experience in children or community development programs
Work Environment
Office based (50%)
Travel: Monthly local travel is required (50%)
Position requires willingness and ability to continue to function during a crisis situation, including during a World Vision response to a manmade or natural disaster.
