Technical Expert/consultant For Education

THE PURPOSE OF THE CONSULTANCY:   World Vision Lebanon is looking for a short term professional expert with a strong background and experience in Education within Development areas. The consultant’s main role will be to work with WV Lebanon in order to lead the process of mapping all Education programs within the Development areas and Response ones.     REQUIRED TASKS:   Overall The Consultant will lead the process of mapping Education projects in WVL, identify gaps and make appropriate recommendations to achieve Education goals as defined in WVL’s national strategy.     Specific Required Tasks   -    Develop appropriate methodology to map and review Education programming at WVL.   -    Review all Education logframes within Development areas and Response ones.   -    Visit some of the areas where Education projects are implemented.      -    Meet with WVL’s Education coordinators.   -    Compare and analyze current WVL’s Education work versus the required goals in the National strategy.     -    Identify gaps in each Education program approach and propose relevant recommendations to achieve strategy goals.   -    Submit a report with all findings, gaps, suggested Education priorities and recommended approach for revised Education programs.   -          Provide weekly feedback to WVL’s team.   CONSULTANT QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:   The Consultant should have the following competencies and experiences:   -          Significant technical experience in Education programs.   -          Advanced degree in relevant field (e.g. Social Sciences, Education, etc). -          Demonstrated knowledge on project cycle management and log frame approach. -          Familiar with civil society and NGO engagement.   -          Good analytical and critical thinking. -          Strong English language proficiency   DURATION OF THE CONSULTANCY:     The consultant will provide services for WVL as needed during the period from July 20th until August 20th, 2013.       Task Timeline Conduct introductory meeting with Education coordinators and WVL team First week. Develop relevant methodology and review it with WVL’s team First week. Review all Education logframes   First week. Visit Education locations   Second week Meet with different Education coordinators   Second and third week Draft first report with findings, gaps and recommendations End of third week. Feedback provided by WVL to first draft report   Early 4th week Submit the final report   End of week 4.
