Wash Assistant

PURPOSE OF POSITION:  To ensure implementation of WASH activities; water, sanitation, and hygiene provision and insure that Syrian refugees have access to basic WASH needs. MAJOR TASKS Identify, assess, and respond to WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) needs among Syrian refugees families residing in Informal tented settlements Supervise the delivery, distribution, and  implementation of (WASH) interventions in informal tented settlements Conduct WASH needs assessments, WASH technical assessments, distributions, and hygiene promotion sessions Document and report on conducted activities to insure that needs assessed are being effectively responded to and that interventions are being documented Educate people about key aspects of hygiene in a culturally appropriate manner Ensure all work is carried out as per the community needs Forging relationships with people in the community in order to get the message across Develop trust, tolerance and co-operation among community members;  Mobilize, motivate and encourage potential leaders to talk to their fellow community members about good hygiene practices Identify and assess public hygiene risks and needs Report areas of concern to the WASH (Water and Sanitation Hygiene) Coordinator KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Good understanding of World Vision and Lebanon WASH Sector Standards. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Good interpersonal and oral communication skills Must have cross-cultural sensitivity, problem solving and negotiation skills. Good team building skills, Acquire a creative, innovative, and adaptability personality. Ability to cope and work under pressure. Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural and difficult / sensitive contexts. Good understanding of World Vision and Lebanon WASH Sector Standards.
