Trainer On Gender And Women's Rights

1.    Introduction: LECORVAW seeks to hire a qualified trainer to conduct training on gender and women’s rights.   The Women’s Access to Justice in the MENA region project Phase 2 is a 3 year project implemented by LECORVAW in partnership with Oxfam GB and five other NGO partners in Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen and Egypt. It is designed to build upon the successes of Phase 1 (April 2011 – March 2014). The key problem this project will address is the limited and inequitable access of poor and vulnerable women to justice. The underlying factors are described in more detail below. 1)     Limited capacities of women to claim their rights due to limited ability to make well informed decisions related to one’s rights and limited affordability of legal services and litigation for women. 2)     Women are socially deterred from accessing the judicial system. 3)     Formal and informal justice systems are perceived as gender biased/ discriminating against women. 4)     Limited impact of CSO advocacy on women’s rights and access to justice. Designed by Oxfam GB and partners, the project seeks to work at the personal, community and systemic levels while fostering stakeholders’ engagement and influencing decision makers at all levels. According to the theory of change the Project seeks change at different levels that will cumulatively create an environment in which women are able to claim their rights through the judicial institutions     Purpose of the job: Develop and deliver a six-day training to two groups of 50 persons representing community members (each group includes 25 persons and will be trained for 3 days). The participants will be provided with necessary knowledge on women’s rights and gender to act as community facilitators.   2.    Duties and Responsibilities: Develop the content of the training including agenda, working methods and procedures, in close collaboration with the Project Team; Develop detailed Curriculum and training modules including materials, teaching materials and handouts. Trainer will have to present draft curriculum and training modules to Program team prior to the training; Prepare evaluation forms. Conduct and facilitate six days of training for 50 persons. Prepare and provide a report on the delivery of the training including trainer’s feedback, and recommendations. The trainer will be expected to produce training and supporting materials specifically materials on Gender and women’s right.   The trainer will be expected to prepare and facilitate training sessions for the mentioned topics. The trainer is also required to provide feedback about the training and recommendation about selected numbers of the attendees that will provide the same training to other groups in the society.   3.    Deliverables and timeline: The trainer should submit the following key deliverables: Training materials and teaching tools on Gender and Women’s right Train 50 person of community facilitator in three days Provide trainer feedback and final report on the overall job.   4.    Job requirements: -       A Master degree in related field -       High experience and knowledge in topics of: Women’s right, Gender and facilitation -       Proven experience in producing training materials -       Proven experience in Women’s right and Gender -       Proven experience in designing, facilitating and providing trainings. -       Proven experience in working with women and in vulnerable communities -       Have great communication skills and presentation skills -       Significant training experience and facilitation skills. -       Flexibility in working with different age groups and different genders -       Able to provide training in both Arabic and English 5.    TIMELINE:   LECORVAW expects the fulfilment of the mentioned tasks within a period of 10 working days.   6. BUDGET: -       The budget will be discussed during interview
