Background:
The Lebanese Council to Resist Violence against Women (LECORVAW) (www.lebanesewomen.org) has been established for more than ten years and has been combating violence against women through various strategies, from psychosocial and socio-economic services to awareness raising, advocacy and direct lobbying. LECORVAW now operates one center in Beirut and one in Tripoli.
Summary: The Safe Women Space Coordinator will be based in Zgharta-Ayrouniyi and manage the space set up in the community and will be responsible for implementing all the programs and activities which include case management, psychosocial support, youth (young girls) community engagement, life skills, vocational training and outreach awareness raising as well as attending coordination meetings with others actors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in planning and developing all program activities at the Safe Women Space in consultation the management of the organization and partner.
Implement all the program activities based on the program objectives and intermediate results reflected in the implementation plan, ensuring the timely delivery of a quality program.
Start up, manage and upkeep the space.
Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the activities with social workers, psycho-therapist, on-call lawyer, outreach workers and accountant.
Report weekly and monthly on the work progress
Support and work closely with the community to ensure active coordination and follow up on the program sustainability
Organize all related events including trainings and community meetings/events ensuring that participants are informed, event packages are prepared and all logistics are organized
Ensure activities are developed in partnership with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders, including local partners (where present) and aim to establish/strengthen processes and mechanisms at local and district levels.
Attending coordination meetings with others actors.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
At Least three years of experience in relevant field
Bachelor Degree in a social sciences or related field
Training, facilitation and coaching skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Good written and spoken English and Arabic skills.
Excellent computer skills.
Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively within a team.
Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of crisis or emergency.
Ability to write monthly reports
