The Logistic Assistant/Driver is responsible for the transportation of people and equipment, ensuring that the assigned vehicle is maintained in a good condition, as well being responsible for ensuring that stock management is maintained at all times and up to date.
Objective 1: Driving (35%)
- Safely driving the assigned vehicle and transporting passengers and materials as per the movement plan.
- Ensuring the assigned vehicle is in a good condition and equipped as per ACF requirements.
- Driving assigned vehicle according to the weekly planning respecting LSOP and the country’s circulation rules.
- Responsible for weekly fuelling and routine daily maintenance check of the assigned vehicle (battery, radiator, tyres etc).
- Reporting any accidents and/or damage to assigned vehicles to the fleet manager immediately.
- Completing the vehicle logbook (fuel / spare parts / maintenance) and summarizing monthly totals in the vehicle logbook.
- Keeping the assigned vehicle clean on a weekly basis (exterior and interior).
- Assisting with loading and unloading of vehicles and assisting technical staff in the field.
- Monitoring the maintenance and fuel consumption of the assigned vehicle; ensuring assigned car has enough fuel to carry out daily movements.
Objective 2: Ensure management of the base’s stocks (30%)
- Guarantee that all procedures and instructions of stock management are followed.
- Ensure the follow-up of stock and pay particular attention to use-by / expiry dates of food and medicine.
- Draw up a monthly inventory.
- Keep all documents related to stock management up to date.
- Produce the monthly stock follow up for all stock of the base.
- Check minimum stock balances when updating stock cards and report anticipated shortages to the Log Manager.
- Make sure that the physical stock matches with the Bin Cards, Stock Cards and Stock follow up.
- Identify the most used items and prevent shortage thereof.
- Keep the stock within the storage areas organized, with clearly identified areas for each department, downloading area and preparation area.
Objective 3: Ensure the quality of the storage conditions (20%)
- Check daily that the store is clean and ensure that it is regularly disinfected and ventilated.
- Check the temperature and humidity of the store using the humidity/temperature detector, and track / record the readings accordingly.
- Check the sanitary conditions of new products (absence of parasites).
- Remove any infected / damaged / unacceptable products and inform the Log Manager accordingly.
- Report any quality problems to the Log Manager.
- Follow up and ensure correct temperature and humidity levels are maintained for all the stock.
- Make sure repellent items are available in the stock.
- Produce loss reports for all broken or damage items.
- Maintain close control of the quality of all items received and validated for each delivery.
Objective 4: Manage shipments (10%)
- Examine the deliveries with regard to quantity, quality and documentation.
- Complete the various dispatch documents.
- Ensure safe loading and downloading into/from transportation vehicles.
- Make sure all documents are duly filled and signed when transmitted to the carrier.
- Check if all parcels are well made to protect the items during transportation.
- Inform consignees in advance of the shipment and the size thereof.
- Always have the means/manpower needed for the shipments and good warehousing.
Objective 4: Other support (5%)
- Archiving the Hard copies in an organized manner, as per the ACF archiving policy.
- Make sure the archiving system for stock management documents is clear, scanned and uploaded on SharePoint.
Objective 5: Security
- Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols.
- Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan.
Objective 6: Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger
- Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee’s abilities.
- Support any activity that helps reaching our humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s abilities.
- Promote gender equality within the humanitarian and/or development work
Training/ Education:
High School certificate with professional experience in logistic/clerical work. University degree preferred on Business Administration, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or related
Technical specific knowledge:
Holding a valid driving license, Basic mechanical knowledge about vehicles, warehouse keeping, basic IT knowledge.
Previous experience:
- 2 years working as driver and/or warehousing.
- Working in humanitarian sector is an asset

Languages:
English & Arabic compulsory (written and verbal), French an asset.
IT and specific systems:
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment, intermediate Excel level required, Intermediate Microsoft word and PowerPoint, Outlook desirable
