IRC’s Gender, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (GEDI) Council is a forum where 47 members representing diverse employee resource groups and departments to inform IRC’s GEDI direction. The Council is home to five committees that act as advisors to IRC on issues related to GEDI and at time lead GEDI activities.
Job Overview/Summary The Gender, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (GEDI) Council Officer will lead administration and internal coordination and communications efforts of the council. This includes scheduling, meeting preparations, logistical support, and communications, including producing content and managing the GEDI Council’s intranet site, and support the necessary internal communication across the organization.- Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the council
- Maintain communications across the council
- Maintain the council’s website and ensure that it is up to date
- Manage the council’s members list
- Manage the council’s calendar
- Manage council and committee meeting arrangements and preparations
- Organize meetings as needed
- Maintain the council filing system
- Prepare presentations and memo as needed
- Ensure meeting notes are prepared and shared in a timely manner
- Support the preparation and submission of requisitions as needed
- Provide translation as needed
- Act as a focal person with IT, Internal communications, and other relevant departments.
- Provide general administrative support to the council chair and council committees as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Finance, Budget Administration, Education, Int’l Affairs, Social Work, etc.) - or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years related non-profit and/or administrative work experience in a fast paced office setting. Some field experience a plus.
- Exceptional organizational and administrative skills, with a proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple streams of work with attention to detail and financial acumen.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills with ability to deliver on complex, sensitive initiatives on timelines.
- Proven writing and editing skills: the ability to draft memos & letters and edit reports and proposals.
- Highly versatile and flexible, with a high degree of comfort changing and refining priorities and results.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and address multifaceted business needs.
- Creative problem-solving skills, with the proven ability to advocate and gain support from others for new ideas.
- Excellent computer skills: MS Word, Excel, and file sharing.

- Possible travel once or twice a year
