Abbas Assi

I'm a researcher and I hold a PhD (2014) in international relations from the University of Leeds and two master’s degrees in political economy (2008) and international studies (2009) from the University of Sydney. I published widely about Lebanese and regional politics. My publications involve the publication of a book titled 'Democracy in Lebanon: Political Parties and the Struggle for Power since Syrian withdrawal' (I.B. Tauris, 2016, paperback edition 2019). It is based on more than 22 interviews conducted by the author. I have also several academic and non-academic publications. I published in British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies, Third World Quarterly, Global Discourse, and Al-Mustaqbil Al-Arabi journals. I also published with Middle East Institute in Washington, Middle East Institute at the University of Singapore, European Institute of the Mediterranean in Spain, Arab Forum for Alternatives Center in Beirut, Center for Arab Unity Studies (Beirut) and Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Beirut.
