The UX/UI Trainer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs that build participants’ skills in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design. The trainer will support DOT’s Youth Digital Program by equipping learners with the practical knowledge and tools needed to create intuitive, accessible, and engaging digital products. The role involves working with diverse groups, adapting teaching methods, and incorporating current industry practices into training content.
- Facilitate training on UX research, wireframing, prototyping, UI design principles, and design systems
- Teach industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and InVision
- Guide learners through the design process: user research, persona creation, journey mapping, wireframe development, and high-fidelity prototyping
- Introduce responsive design principles and accessibility standards
- Support learners in building a professional design portfolio
- Stay updated on emerging UX/UI trends and best practices.
- Participate in Train-the-Trainer (TOT) programs and other professional development activities to enhance skills
Requirements:
- Proficiency in industry-standard UX/UI design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, etc.).
- Strong understanding of design thinking and human-centered design methodologies.
- Knowledge of web and mobile design best practices.
- Ability to adapt training to different learning styles and technical backgrounds.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate learners.

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in UX/UI design and/or teaching.
Demonstrated portfolio of UX/UI projects.
Experience training or mentoring youth or diverse audiences is an asset.
