Expression Through Art Trainer

The Lebanese Council to Resist Violence Against Woman (LECORVAW) is a non-governmental organization working for the purpose of fighting and resisting all forms of Violence Against Women (VAW) and Gender Based Violence (GBV) in Lebanon. Back in 1997 LECORVAW was established by a group of social activists which saw the need to make a stand and stop all forms of violence and discrimination against women, by 1999 LECORVAW had two Listening and Counselling Centers operating in both Beirut and Tripoli fully equipped and ready to receive Women survivors of VAW & GBV and their children and provide them with free social, mental and legal services.

Main Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate expression through art sessions (e.g. drawing, painting, collage, creative movement, mixed media).
•   Create a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental environment for emotional expression.
•  Encourage participation and respect individual expression and creativity.
•   Adapt activities to participants’ age, abilities, and cultural context.
•   Use art activities as a tool for stress reduction and emotional release (not clinical therapy).
•  Prepare and manage basic art materials needed for sessions.
•   Coordinate session plans and schedules with the project team.
•  Monitor participation and maintain attendance records.
•  Provide brief feedback or reporting on sessions when requested.
• Follow organizational safeguarding, PSEA, and code of conduct policies.

Qualifications

•   Background or experience in art, creative facilitation, education, or related fields.
•   Proven experience facilitating art-based or creative group activities.
•  Experience working with women, girls, or community groups is an asset.
•  Basic understanding of psychosocial support principles is preferred.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•  Ability to work in a culturally sensitive, respectful, and trauma-informed manner.
