Emergency Response Project Officer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordination and Administration:

Provide support and coordination in the implementation of all aspects of the project and ensure attainment of key objectives of the projects, as outlined in the project documents.

Ensure that Project Manager is regularly updated on the progress of the projects and any issues that might impede the successful implementation of the projects. 

Prepare regular management and operational reports covering the achievement of key milestones agreed in plans.

Support in projects’ start up Regular monitoring of the project implementation through monitoring field visits. How are those field visits monitored?

Support monitoring and evaluation efforts to document projects’ outputs, outcomes, and impact to inform donor and other internal reporting.

Assist and monitor the implementation of activities.

Assist in filing and record keeping of project activities. 

Assist in analysis of data collected to facilitate assessment results and lessons learnt.

Support in monitoring and reviewing operational budgets covering all aspects of the projects on a monthly basis, explaining any over or under-expenditures.

Represents LECORVAW at selected National/Field level Working Groups and Task Force Meetings.

In coordination with the Project Manager, assume a supportive role in drafting and/or reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and associated reporting across all projects.

Other related tasks and responsibilities might be added as the need of LECORVAW management needs.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Education and/or Experience: 
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Social Science field or any other related field.
  • 2-3 years of coordination experience in the relative field preferably with local and international NGOs and project management.  
  • Experience implementing international human rights programming;
  • Experience working with and developing the capacity of local CBOs/NGOs; and
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic M&E concepts.

 

  • Analytical Skills:
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions;
  • Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information, collect and research data, use intuition and experience to complement data and design work flows and procedures;
  • Understands organizational and strategic implications of decisions;
  • Ability to develop and implement cost saving measures;
  • Ability to responsibly manage organizational resources; and
  • Ability to align daily work with strategic goal
  • Ability to delegate tasks to staff with diligent follow-up and action points.

 

  • Language Skills: 
  • Must have written and spoken fluency in English, Arabic and French are a plus

Excellent oral communication skills: speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; participates in meetings;

  • Effectively communicates utilizing a variety of technologies such as phone or video phone (i.e. Skype);
  • Effectively communicates with non-native English speakers;
  • Excellent written skills: writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet target audience needs, including cross-cultural needs; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information;
  • Ability to remain composed and professional in difficult circumstances; and
  • Policy, advocacy and community organizing experience a plus. 
  • Computer Skills:  Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange; Windows operating systems.
