Key Responsibilities
1. Monitor Risks in Shelters
- Visit assigned shelters regularly
- Observe and flag any child protection, safeguarding, and safety risks (e.g. overcrowding, unsafe spaces, children at risk, exclusion)
- Report issues to the supervisor in a timely manner
2. Check CWC & IEC Materials
- Ensure key materials are visible and accessible, including:
- PSEA information
- Complaint/reporting mechanisms
- Available services and hotlines
- Report any gaps or missing materials
3. Support Safe Identification & Referrals
- Act as a focal point for receiving concerns from facilitators or community workers
- Ensure safe and confidential referral of cases through established pathways, including:
- Child Protection / GBV case management
- Specialized protection services (Child Protection, GBV case management, and family tracing and reunification services for unaccompanied or separated children)
- Do not manage cases directly — refer only
4. Coordinate with Facilitators
- Follow up with CBPSS facilitators on any protection concerns during sessions
- Ensure issues are escalated when needed
5. Reporting
- Share regular updates on:
- Risks observed
- Actions taken
- Referrals made
- Immediately report urgent cases
Profile Required
- Background in social work, psychology, or related field
- Basic experience in child protection or community work
- Understanding of confidentiality and referral pathways
- Comfortable working in emergency/shelter settings
