The BBA is currently implementing the “Legal Assistance to GBV Survivors” project which is part of the ‘Expertise France - Women Empowerment Hub in Lebanon (WE-HUB),’ financed by the Neighborhood, Development, and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI-Global Europe) under the European Commission.
The BBA aims to recruit a Social Worker to play a critical role in ensuring that legal assistance is delivered safely, ethically, and in a survivor-centered manner, and that survivors are effectively supported throughout the legal process
This project aims to establish and operationalize a specialized legal assistance mechanism within the BBA to improve access to justice for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). The project combines legal aid provision, capacity building, and strengthened coordination with GBV service providers to ensure a survivor-centered and integrated response.
The Social Worker will support the implementation of the GBV Legal Assistance Mechanism by ensuring survivor-centered case intake, screening, referral, and follow-up, and by strengthening coordination with GBV service providers in Lebanon.
Under the supervision of the Project Manager and in close coordination with the Project Team, the Social Worker will:
- Support the operationalization of the GBV Legal Assistance Mechanism within the BBA
- Ensure proper intake, screening, and referral of GBV cases
- Facilitate coordination with GBV service providers and protection actors
- Provide continuous follow-up with survivors throughout the legal process
- Ensure compliance with survivor-centered approaches and ethical standards
- Mapping of GBV service providers across the project’s regions
- Establish referral guidelines and pathways between NGOs, protection actors, and the BBA
- Develop eligibility criteria for access to legal assistance
The Social Worker will ensure 20 working days per month.
