Assaad Sammour works as the head of media unit and research department with LOWER. He is dedicated in all his words to promote labor rights and access to legal and social justice for all workers in Lebanon.

In 2014, he established the legal support unit at LOWER, and provided hundreds of free and safe accesses to legal advice and assistance for workers and employees those facing violations at the workplace. In 2019, he was among few of independent media activists who co-founded the alternative journalists’ union (Nakaba Badila). Currently, he is the acting secretary of the board.

I am a professional translator with 17 years of experience in various fields of translation, particularly in the NGO field, technology, finance, and social sciences (BA in Translation). My academic background in sociolinguistics (MA in Linguistics) shaped my life and professional journey and transformed my views on translation, and deeply affected my approach to languages in general, their use, learning, teaching, and social impact.
